Zed’s Dead Baby!

Of all the projects I have worked on, this is perhaps my favourite. The Zombie Dragon that the Vampire Lord is riding is affectionately known as “Zed”. A close look at the tomb stone will find a little bit of humor…. The skeletal dragon is an RAFM model with some converted plastic Balrog wings on it. To get some shape in the wings I stuck them in an oven to soften them up so I could bend them into shape. Why an oven you ask? Well I didn’t have a heat gun. If you use an oven just keep a close eye on them…leaving them in their too long will ruin the finer detail.

This project was also the first time I used Devlan Mud. There, I’ve admitted it I’ve used Devlan Mud!! The Devlan Mud was used to get the dirty look to the bones whilst I layered up the colours.
